Dr Anna BARNES is a consultant psychiatrist. After studying psychology at an undergraduate level and working as an assistant psychologist, she studied medicine and qualified as a medical doctor from St George’s, University of London in 2009. She trained as a psychiatrist at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust. She started to work a day a week at the GIC under an honorary contract in 2016, and has been working here full-time since finishing her training in August 2017. She is also the clinical governance lead for the GIC, and co-runs a monthly psychosocial support group.
