Dr Michael Beattie

Dr Michael Beattie is a Counselling Psychologist who qualified at the University of Roehampton and undertook his clinical training at the GIC.  Michael sees patients for assessments, individual and group psychological therapy and co-facilitates workshops run by the psychology department.  Michael takes an integrative approach in therapy, helping people to unpack, explore and ultimately resolve some of their questions and concerns around gender identity.  In addition to clinical work, Michael has spent time teaching undergraduate psychologists and has also worked in a sexual health charity with people affected by HIV.  Before retraining as a Counselling Psychologist, he worked for a number of years in marketing, communications, training and development.
