Dr Kathleen Houlton

Dr Kathleen Houlton is a Trainee Gender Identity Specialist.  She studied Graduate Entry Medicine following undergraduate studies at University College London and postgraduate studies at the University of Nottingham.  She has undertaken her postgraduate medical training within the East Midlands, including posts in A&E, Urology and Genito-urinary Medicine.  Her research interests include provision and accessibility of healthcare and Sexual Health Services for transgender and non-binary service users.  She has worked part-time at the GIC since 2018, alongside undertaking GP training and additional qualifications in Sexual Health.  She is committed to raising awareness about transgender and non-binary health needs in medical education, general practice and wider healthcare settings.
